Turtle has long been the symbol for Mother Earth and early stories tell of the land mass which carried the People to safety from the oceans was known as Turtle Island. Turtle is featured here on these highly polished dangle/hoops along with rain and cloud designs expertly crafted by Hopi Silversmith, Stephan Selina . They measure 1/2 of an inch wide at the bottom, tapering up to 1/4 of an inch at the post. Stephan's hallmark is stamped on the reverse side.
