Tawa, the Sun and Father to the Hopi is featured on this satin-finished buckle by Silversmith, Trinidad Lucas . An Eagle wings its way toward the Sun, carrying the prayers of the people, which usually include the desire for rain. In the lower left-hand corner is a stylized feather, a cloud and raindrop. This piece measures 2 by 3 1/8 inches and will accommodate up to a 1 1/2 inch belt. Trini has etched the rays of the sun and the feathers of the eagle and added a cast wave to the end of buckle. Her hallmark TLd inside of a bear, her clan symbol is stamped on the reverse side.
