Tawa, the Sun and Father to the Hopi is featured on this satin-finished buckle by Silversmith, Trinidad Lucas. An Eagle wings its way toward the Sun, carrying the prayers of the people, which usually include the desire for rain. In the lower left-hand corner is a stylized feather, a cloud and raindrop. This piece measures 2 by 3 1/8 inches and will accommodate up to a 1 1/2 inch belt. Trini has etched the rays of the sun and the feathers of the eagle and added a cast wave to the end of buckle. Her hallmark TLd inside of a bear, her clan symbol is stamped on the reverse side.
NOTE: Pictures often appear larger than actual size to show the details and fine craftsmanship!
