Weaver Selina

Weaver Selina is an excellent silversmith who creates fine quality jewelry. His designs are uniquely his own. They are clean and understated in a quite elegant way and are always superbly executed. Weaver learned silversmithing from some of Hopi's best during his years at Hopi Crafts. The list includes Bernard Dawahoya, Eldon James and Manuel Poseyesva.......so yes, his work just has to be to the highest standard.

Weaver lives in the Second Mesa village of Shungopovi, is a member of the Sun's Forehead Clan and uses the Sun's Forehead as his hallmark.

Best of all...Weaver is a very nice guy with a great sense of humor and is an accomplished storyteller.

His wife Alberta is also a well talented individual who makes coiled baskets. She learned from her mother Grace Vance and specializes in miniatures. Together Weaver and Alberta own and operate Selina Hopi Silver Arts & Crafts. Their shop is well stocked with local arts and crafts and visitors are always welcome. Next time you visit Hopi, plan a stop at their shop on Highway 264 about a mile south of the Hopi Cultural Center.
